The biggest pet adoption weekend of the year is here! The Hawaiian Humane Society is waiving ALL adoption fees August 29-31, 2025 as our grand finale to NBCUniversal’s Clear the Shelters nationwide adoption event – and we can’t wait to help you meet your new best friend.
No adoption fees. No barriers to adoption. Just love. This is where your love stories begin: visit our Mōʻiliʻili Campus, Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili or our offsite adoption partners at select Petco locations on Oʻahu. Our mobile van will even be bringing additional kittens to our campuses to help even more pets get connected to potential adopters.
Today’s (Friday, August 29) bonus: Papa John’s Hawaiʻi is joining us at our Mōʻiliʻili Campus from 11 am – 2 pm with free specialty pizza vouchers for the first 10 adopters, and they’ll be selling pizza fundraising cards with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Hawaiian Humane.
This weekend isn’t just about adoptions – it’s about creating space for the most vulnerable animals who need our help next. Every adoption makes room for another pet in need.

Clear The Shelters™ / Desocupar Los Albergues® is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. Every year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC and Telemundo owned stations, plus affiliated stations, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to host Clear The Shelters events.
